The UNCTAD World Investment Forum 2018

The UNCTAD World Investment Forum is the pre-eminent global platform for investment and development. The Forum devises strategies and solutions for global investment and development challenges. It facilitates multi-stakeholder collective action to stimulate investment in development. The Forum offers a unique opportunity to influence investment-related policy making, shape the global investment environment, and to network with global leaders in business and politics.2018 marks the 10th anniversary of the Forum. Previous editions took place in Accra (2008), Xiamen (2010), Doha (2012), Geneva (2014) and Nairobi (2016), The Forum was set up to fill the investment institutional gap in the international economic governance architecture. Since its inception it has served as the leading forum to leverage investment policy for sustainable development.

The Forum will host up to 5,000 key global investment community stakeholders, including market regulators, stock exchange executives, private and institutional investors, corporate executives, family business owners, sovereign wealth fund managers, infrastructure development funds, investment promotion agencies, investment treaty negotiators, investment lawyers, accounting standard setters, academia and international media.

The 2018 Forum will consist of some fifty events, including a grand opening, the Global Leaders Investment Summit, the Global Investment Game Changers Summit, ministerial roundtables, conferences, private sector-led sessions, Ted-style presentations, high-profile stakeholder roundtables, networking events, award ceremonies and an Investment Village.

The five-day-event features over 60 events, some 400+ speakers and offers unprecedented opportunity for networking!

The World Investment Forum will take place from 22 to 26 October 2018, at the Palais des Nations in Geneva, the United Nations Headquarters in Europe and an international business, economic development and diplomacy hub.
