The African Business Roundtable (ABR) is pleased to share highlights from the Innovest Afrika Investment Summit 3.0 and Demo Day, successfully held on May 24, 2025, at the ALX Tech Hub, One Airport Square, Accra, Ghana.
This landmark event was hosted in strategic partnership with Innovest Afrika, with the invaluable support of the Pan-African Private Sector Trade and Investment Committee (PAFTRAC). The summit aligned seamlessly with ABR’s core mandate: promoting private sector development, regional integration, and investment across the African continent.
Under the theme “Fast-Tracking Innovation: Accelerating Ghana’s Leap into a Tech-Driven Economy,” the summit brought together leading entrepreneurs, investors, policy advocates, and ecosystem enablers from across the continent. It served as a dynamic platform to explore innovative solutions, foster investment opportunities, and accelerate Africa’s digital and economic transformation.
The event commenced with a compelling address by Femi Moito, Founder and CEO of Innovest Afrika, who reaffirmed the organization’s mission:
“Despite the wealth of talent and ideas, founders of African descent receive less than 2% of global venture capital. Innovest Afrika is here to change that. We are the bridge between these visionary founders and the funders who can power their journey,” Moito emphasized.

This was followed by notable keynote sessions. Ablade Odoi-Atsem, representing Mr. Samuel Ayodele, Executive Secretary, African Business Roundtable, delivered an address titled “Accelerating Intra-African Trade, Industrialization, and Economic Diversification through AfCFTA,” emphasizing the urgency of regional collaboration and integration. Dr. Ruben Atekpe, Executive Chairman of Mecowa Group, added valuable insight on building resilient, impact-driven ventures that extend beyond short-term gains.

One of the summit’s standout sessions, a spotlight panel titled “Beyond Consumer Apps: Incorporating Digital Tools to Solve Ghana’s Critical Problems,” explored how technology can tackle pressing national challenges. Moderated by Leke Akinkunmi, the panel featured Eugene Tawiah (SecondStax), Zion Thompson (StartupLaunchcode), and Nicholas Carl Clerk (Renew Capital). The discussion underscored the power of AI, data infrastructure, and local innovation in addressing complex issues in education, healthcare, agriculture, and governance.
The excitement continued with Demo Day, where seven promising startups from the Innovest Ignite Accelerator – Ghana Edition took the stage: MyFigTech, Munakalati, Phundit, CloudFolda, DrDoGood, Sparkmag, and AkwaabaApp. After a dynamic pitch session, four startups — Munakalati, Phundit, DrDoGood, and AkwaabaApp — were selected to enter the Innovest Afrika Deal Room for further due diligence and potential investment. Munakalati and Phundit stood out, receiving cash prizes and business support for delivering the day’s top pitches, as evaluated by a panel of expert judges.

The summit also received strong government endorsement. Hon. Malik Basintale, CEO of Ghana’s Youth Employment Agency (YEA), graced the occasion and highlighted the importance of ecosystem-building for youth-led ventures. He praised platforms like Innovest Ignite for their role in empowering the next generation of African entrepreneurs.
The African Business Roundtable is honoured to support Innovest Afrika in its bold mission to accelerate 5,000 African-founded startups by 2030. The success of the Accra edition marks a significant milestone in the continent’s innovation journey — one founder, one partnership, and one pitch at a time.
This summit further exemplifies ABR’s unwavering commitment to championing intra-African trade, AfCFTA implementation, and youth enterprise development. In collaboration with PAFTRAC, we remain dedicated to strengthening platforms that elevate African voices in policy, investment, and innovation dialogues at both regional and global levels.
