We are delighted to extend our warm congratulations to Mr. Ademola Adeyemi Bero, CEO / MD First Exploration & Petroleum Development Company Limited  (First E&P), on his recent appointment as Chairman of the OPEC Board of Governors for 2025. This significant role reflects his exceptional leadership in the energy sector and his dedication to advancing global energy policy. Mr. Bero’s appointment marks a significant milestone for African leadership on the global energy stage. His achievements underscore the growing influence of African leaders in shaping international energy discussions and driving innovation within the sector.

He follows in the footsteps of other distinguished African leaders, including Mr. Samuel Dossou-Aworet, Founder of the Petrolin Group and President of the African Business Roundtable  (ABR), whose previous roles on the OPEC Board demonstrated the importance of African contributions to global energy policy. We celebrate Mr. Ademola Adeyemi Bero’s remarkable achievement and extend our best wishes for a successful tenure. His leadership and vision will undoubtedly inspire future generations and further position Africa as a key player in the global energy landscape.
