Esteemed members and Directors, African Business Roundtable (ABR) Partners, Friends and Associates,
It is with immense joy and deep gratitude to God that I write to inform you of my recognition and inclusion on the ‘Forbes Afrique Top 20 CEO’s List’ publication of 10th October, 2024 titled “The Heavyweights of Francophone Africa” – Read Here
This achievement, without doubt, precipitated by years of hardwork, diligence, resilience and dogged pursuit of excellence in numerous personal noble endeavors, like the Founding of the Petrolin Group, would not have been realized without the contribution, support, cooperation and collaboration of several people – partners, friends, family, associates and compatriots like you.
The confidence and trust reposed in me by the African Business Roundtable (ABR) Board of Directors, that unanimously elected me to be President and Chairman of the Board; not to mention the support, cooperation and acceptance by majority of members, strengthened my pan-African convictions and gave impetus to our collective mission to build the capacity of indigenous entrepreneurs and leverage resources of international partners for economic growth and sustainable development of our dear continent – Africa.
I must not fail to recognize the good foundation laid in building the ABR before my ascension to its leadership, by past Presidents and Executives of the Roundtable, of which my big brother, President Emeritus and Grand Patron, Alhaji (Dr) Bamanga Tukur deserves special mention. They all did their bits in shaping the upward trajectory of private sector development and engagement in Africa’s economic landscape.
The Fondation Espace Afrique which I founded, is an institution that has assisted in my efforts at economic diversification, enabling my foray into education, culture, tourism, infrastructure, information and technology sectors.
Institutional supports from the African Development Bank Group, with which the ABR under my leadership had strategic partnership for the promotion of investments through the African Investment Forum platform; and the Africa Export Import Bank (Afreximbank) led Pan Africa Private Sector Trade and Investment Committee (PAFTRAC) of which I was appointed a Vice-Chair of the Executive Committee, provided the platform for deepening my involvement in trade facilitation and regional integration.
The foregoing and numerous others, contributed to my outstanding performance in Africa’s economic growth and sustainable development.
It is my privilege and honour to dedicate this recognition and inclusion on Forbes Afrique’s Top 20 CEO’s List 2024 to you all.
Together, we can and will, build the Africa of our dreams, God helping us!
Thank you.
